I’m not a concrete countertop professional. I’m just a guy who decided to do some concrete projects and found that before I could select anything I had to research almost everything.

There’s a lot of excellent advice out there on the internet, but in preparing to do my projects, I wasn’t able to find a comprehensive, one-size-fits-all summary tutorial. Yes, there are plenty of great YouTube videos which could be a perfect guide for you, as long as what you want to make is exactly what they made. But if you like one bit from one source and a different bit from another source, there may be a whole bunch of research you need to do to make your preferences work together.

What I’ve tried to do with this site is to start by helping you choose what it is you want to create, and then directing you step-by-step to where to find the knowledge and resources that fit your unique project. There’s not a lot of original content here because one or more people have already done a good job of explaining just about any topic you need to know. My goal is to point you toward the stuff that is pertinent to your project to help you avoid getting bogged down in stuff that is only pertinent to someone else’s project.

I have shared my own advice here and there throughout the site where I recognize topics that often go overlooked in many concrete countertop tutorials. There are a lot of differences between making a countertop and the concrete work I’ve done in my career as a civil engineer and general contractor; but the similarities help me recognize things that people forgot to mention.
